About Us

Becky Bromley

My sister-in-law Stephanie Lambert introduced me to the Gourd Arts world a couple of years ago when she invited me to take a gourding class in Laurens, SC with her. I never thought I had an artistic bone in my body, but after that first class I wanted to know when and where the next handcrafted gourd get together would be. I was hooked!!

Now Steph and I have our own workshop where we create our gourd art. My favorite technique is wood burning. I really wasn't sure about it at first, but now I love it. After trying my hand at it in classes I purchased a woodburner and  some pyrography pens. Now I love the smell of charred gourd and the beautiful designs I create. I also enjoy carving designs into the gourds with a rotary tool.

Every year we attend classes in Cherokee, NC, Savannah, GA ,and Laurens, SC. We are members of the Georgia and American Gourd Societies. Once a month we attend "Gourd Patch Meetings" where we learn new techniques, and gourd our hearts out all day!

After creating a few gourd masterpieces Steph and I decided to take our show on the road. We set up our traveling art shop at craft festivals around Georgia and North Carolina. We will keep you posted on our upcoming festival locations so you can visit us at a festival near you.

Stephanie Lambert

My profession is an emergency department registered nurse, but my passion is gourd art. In 2006 a friend suggested that we check out the gourd gathering in Cherokee NC. I have always liked crafting, cross-stitching, furniture refinishing and interior design, but somehow I always became bored and just felt like I really had not found my niche. After that weekend in Cherokee that all changed. I became hooked on gourding and much to my husband's dismay came home loaded down with various tools, paints , equipment and gourds! I most enjoy woodburning, and working with clay and Apoxie Sculpt.

The reason that I love working with gourds is that the possibilities are endless. If you can imagine it you can create it. After convincing Becki to go with me to a couple of classes she too became a fellow "gourd head" and from this we have not only become best friends and sisters of the heart, but business partners as well.

I hope that you enjoy our artistic endeavors as much as we love creating them.
